The Viewer Having Restless Sleeps...
This week we are into The Viewer book by (Shaun Tan). There was a phrase that said "he was having a restless sleep" so we had to act it out. The book is about a boy named Tristan and he look at the olden day picture machine were it shows all sorts of photos and he saw them but he could not sleep. I have worked with my friend Arnav to act out and edit the photo. Here is the soundscape link:

That Was Camp!!!
Last week we had gone to camp at long bay Marine Education Recreation Center.
We had plenty of fun and we had much more activities then you think.
This is my Remember When Poem which now will be my life remembering.
That Was Camp.
Remember when we were doing archery and we gave it a shot?
Remember when I was looking at the view in the early morning and it was paradise?
That was camp.
Remember when we were doing mountain biking and we went to a haunted house?
Remember when we were doing stackem and the strange shaking legs feeling hoped on?
That was camp.
Remember when my spoon went in the stinky smelly rubbish bin when we were washing our own dishes?
Do you remember when I was surfing and the giant waves came like a tsunami?
That was camp.

Backward-Looking:
What have been your learning highlights this term?
My Learning highlights,
My learning highlights have been to do with geometry workshops because it made me learn more about it. My other learning highlight is the quad blogging that's going on. That is a better way to make me comment.
|
Inward-Looking:
What were your Learner Profile goals for Term 2? Have your goals changed? Are you on track to meet your goals?
My learner profile,
My learner profile is to be active move fast. Also being reflective on what work I have done. Think about what I have done at home is well. My goals have not been changed. I think I will need to choose achievable goals next time so I am not falling behind.
|
Outward-Looking:
If you were the teacher, what comments would you make about your learning so far?
If I was a teacher,
If I was a teacher I would say that my maths work I am just at the national standards. I think for reading I am above the national standards. Also for writing I would be at the national standards. I think I still need to work hard.
|
Forward-Looking:
As you look back at your learning so far, what's one thing that you would like to try to improve upon?
Forward-Looking,
I think I need to try and up level my writing and make my writing more better so people can understand what I am writing. Also because I need to pay attention and make the most of the learning time.

Have You Ever Wondered Why The Moon Is Upside Down?
In Week 6 of Term 2 our class focused on how to write great explanations. We wrote about the Moon’s different phases as we are in the middle of learning about Planet Earth and Beyond. Learning how to write a great explanation will help us with our self-guided topics in a few weeks time. Here is my writing, after I have self-assessed and peer-assessed my work.
Title: WHAT IF THE MOON WAS UPSIDE DOWN…?
Introduction:
The great asteroid (the Moon) has eight different lunar phases that change every night. WHAT!
If you want to know more about the the great moon, read on.
Moon’s orbit around the Earth:
While the Moon revolves the Earth, we see further more or less of the illuminated side. Also the Earth is orbiting the sun at the same time that the moon is orbiting the Earth. Also people truly believe that the Moon’s phases are shadows but actually the sun reflects light onto the Moon.
Phases of the Moon:
Secondly, The Moon has eight different phase. That are Waxing Crescent, New Moon, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Waning crescent, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter and Full Moon. These are the phases that the Moon has. Meanwhile a cool fact is that the Moon is actually a asteroid.
Time management of the Moon:
The Management is really important to the Moon. This would help the Moon’s phases that come out every night. Thirdly, the Moon managment would help while the Earth orbits the Moon and the Moon orbits the Sun. Lastly the Moon’s management is actually really confusing and those eight phases are really important.
Conclusion:
Now this journey come to an end. I hope this explanation inspires you to write your own. Also cool fact is that the Moon is actually a asteroid. If you would like to visit this website check out the link: http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/sciencefacts/space/moon.html
