ANZAC Reflection

What: In McCahon Class we are learning about ANZAC and that fits into the World War 1. Also about the poppies and what the poppies mean is that poppies represent ANZAC day and the war.

So What: I have been learning that there are stretchers, rats,  lice, poppies,  horses, donkeys and cats and all the other things. There are the helpful things and rats and lice are really annoying for the soldiers and they had to deal with those things.

Now What: What I have learnt about, is that conscientious objectors are not really popular and  I feel that what if you were one. So my thinking is that the soldiers were trying to secure our country. The whole army landed in Gallipoli and also  the soldiers had a dawn parade before they went in the ship to go Gallipoli in Turkey.

In Week 6 of Term 1 our class focused on how to write great explanations. We wrote about how to survive your first night in Minecraft (the game a lot of us are obsessed with!). Here is my writing, after I have self-assessed and peer-assessed my work.

This is my Reflection for the week every Fridays I will be publishing this reflection.
This is Week 4 reflection and hope you enjoy this.

What: Our groups book name is War Games, and it is all about being fair and being communicative. Also our groups WALT is knowing what the authors purpose is and our book is fun to read I enjoy the book much more because i’m Indian and Pakistani and that was about India having a war with Pakistan.

 So What: Helps us understand the text. Evaluate the author's thinking. Think beyond the the surface feature. Also identifying what the authors has wrote and why he/she wrote it. Also what the authors thinking in his head. 

Now What: Use this strategy when reading other texts to help my learning in McCahon Class 2015.

How to be a Positive Learner in McCahon Class

This is my first explanation text for the year. I found doing this text easy and tricky because panning was a bit tricky and easy for planning the text and finding out what the story is going to like when it's finished.

How to be a Positive Learner in McCahon Class

How to be a positive leaner in McCahon Class is that you have to be a self directed learner. Also having a growth mind set and  being a open-minded learner in McCahon.

1 things first you have to be self directed learner. Have you ever wondered how to be a self-directed learner?  Well if you haven't then I am here to teach you. Step 1 also you have to be knowing to be working independently by getting organised and being initiative also you have to be efficient. Decide what workshop you need to go to, also know when you need help. Ask yourself what you need to plan your writing.

2 Step is have to have a growth mind set changes when you're in McCahon class because the way you learn and plus we are role models of our school so being in this class is so important to me. Also in this class you try give everything a shot, and so you also have to be very organised if you are a senior syndicate.

3 step is Being open-minded is so important to our learner profile and thats what our goal is to be. Our learning in McCahon Class is being an important self directed learner and soon we have our goal setting. So we are really learning lots of things right now. So being open-minded is including being organised following the hay park way and also believing in yourself.
